The below press release was sent to local media and several community partners yesterday:

Nonprofits that serve NWA can apply for free tech solutions

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS—Nonprofits that serve Northwest Arkansas have the opportunity to receive free technology
solutions through GiveCampNWA 2018, which is scheduled for October 19-21.

GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where technology and creative professionals including designers, developers,
database administrators, marketers, content creators, and web strategists donate their time to provide solutions
for non-profit organizations. The event will be held in Rogers, Ark.

Chris Whittle has been involved with GiveCampNWA for a few years and has been part of the organization process
for several years.

“In one event, we can give organizations a team to not only build them a website, but also help with marketing,
design and SEO,” Whittle said.

Applications are open at GiveCampNWA.org for nonprofits to apply. Most nonprofits need a new or revamped website,
but other technology solutions have been sought in previous years as well. The only major constraint is that the
projects must be doable in a single weekend. The nonprofits must also be located in the state of Arkansas and
serve the Northwest Arkansas region.

Organizers are also actively recruiting volunteers and sponsors for the event. Information about volunteering and
sponsoring is also available on the GiveCampNWA website. Writers, web designers, developers, and project
managers are all needed to make this event a success. Sponsors can donate in-kind items or make a financial
donation.

Over the years, GiveCampNWA volunteers have provided technology solutions that help the nonprofits serve their
respective audiences. In 2017 alone, the organization provided $100,000 worth of free help to local nonprofits.

One such organization was RootED Northwest Arkansas, which is a non-profit organization that focuses on serving
all parents of children in grades K-12 to help them better understand their education options.

“As a non-profit, spending hard-to-come-by time and money takes away from the impact we make in the community.
Thanks to the volunteers at GiveCampNWA, we now have a website to showcase our impact in the community and
connect parents to much-needed K-12 education resource in Northwest Arkansas,” said Judith Yanez, RootED
executive director.

Josie Hardy is on the organization committee this year and is working with sponsors to make the event possible.

“Supporting GiveCampNWA is a unique opportunity for sponsors because it allows them to empower so many nonprofits
with just one donation. There’s really not another event like it in the region,” she said.

Jamie Smith has participated in the past three GiveCampNWA events and joined the organizing committee this year
to help with communications.

“I can’t state strongly enough how important this event is for local nonprofits and the people they serve,” she
said. “Another thing I love about this event is how people from many different companies, backgrounds, and
belief systems come together for this one cause. We work together to help make a difference in our community.”
